Apple Opens Its First U.S. Manufacturing Academy in Detroit
From Motor City to Smart City: Apple empowers local businesses with future-ready skills.
Apple has taken a bold step toward strengthening U.S. manufacturing with the launch of its first-ever Apple Manufacturing Academy in Detroit. The academy’s debut on August 19, 2025 marked the beginning of Apple’s latest initiative—part of a sweeping $500 billion commitment to invest in American innovation and industry over the next four years.
A Hub for Smarter Manufacturing
Hosted in the historic First National Building in downtown Detroit, the academy is designed to empower small and medium-sized businesses with hands-on training in advanced manufacturing technologies, leveraging artificial intelligence, smart automation, and data-driven workflows.
Courses cover a spectrum of critical skills—including machine learning, process optimization, automation, digital tech for operational improvements, and quality management. In-person sessions feature not only structured workshops but also one-on-one consultations with Apple engineers and Michigan State University (MSU) experts.
